Last month we joined Shaleshock Citizens Action Alliance to help protect our communities from the exploitation of our natural resources by gas drilling companies.
On December 5, more than 1,600 individuals came together at Ithaca's State Theatre to take action as The Horse Flies, The Sim Redmond Band and Donna the Buffalo performed to raise awareness about the natural gas harvesting practice known as hydrofracking.
More than 6,500 individuals have already voiced their concern by signing the coalition letter urging Governor Paterson to withdraw the current DEC regulations in the effort to prevent damage to our water supplies and ecosystems.
We believe so deeply in this effort, that we volunteered our time to help our community by creating the print program for the concert, as well as a virtual concert experience to continue the evening's important work. We thank the many businesses who contributed to the program. Together we raised over $1600 to benefit Shaleshock in addition to ticket and merchandise sales. If you would like to help, there is still much work to be done. Watch the Virtual Concert...
