I am a kindergarten teacher at the Ithaca Waldorf School. This fall, I have been observing all the children play together under the beautiful blue sky and I have been struck by how happy they are. I think our school finds a good balance between holding the children in the adult consciousness, and letting them free. I believe the children feel safe and very much a part of a community, and at the same time, acknowledged and appreciated as individuals. It also strikes me that the faculty are also very happy- fulfilled and inspired.Our school is growing and thriving right now, and I look forward to a new building on our farm land on Nelson Road for 2011!
